My answer, I give all the time …

“You don't.“

Anxiety is a physio-psychological experience that is unique to the human body, and hardwired into our system … where we have a fear response cycle … 💥 SMACKED ONTOP 💥 … of a fear response cycle!

Has the capacity to show up at any moment between now and allllllllllll the way till it’s your time to walk off into the sunset.

Regardless 👉 if all you do all day is lay on a beach under a palm tree …

Regardless 👉 if tomorrow you win the lottery …

BUT … that’s not bad news.

Why?

Because there is a big difference between “having the capacity to show up” vs. actually showing up for you all the time.

I firmly believe that → the real thing that people want ← is to just not feel anxious all the goddamn time 🤷‍♀️ 🫠. Tell me I’m wrong?

And THAT ….

The ... “not feeling so anxious all the time” …

Is a new reality that is ENTIRELY possible and accessible to us all.

So let’s get clear ⤵

Just because we have a physio-psychological experience that our nervous system has the CAPACITY to turn on at any given moment …

That does NOT mean that we can't

🪄 take actions

🪄 create systems

🪄 and acquire understandings

that allow us to lead and live lives of lesser and lighter anxiety.

How much “lesser” am I talking about?

Even up to 99.9% of the frequency, intensity, and duration of anxiety can be reduced for people (*not a real empirically backed statistic, but you get the drift … AND … I can speak from personal experience as someone that has truly accomplished a 99.9% reduction*).

And when THAT is accomplished … that is when you hear someone then say they “no longer have anxiety”.

But let’s get EXTRA clear ⤵

Anxiety was never something they “had” to begin with.

It was always something that they were experiencing (a physio-psychological experience).

Just like we experience the rain, but we don’t walk around saying we “have” the rain.

And when something doesn't show up for 99.9% of the days … 🤷‍♀️ … at that point, we simply summarize by saying “it doesn't exist” ... NOT because it doesn't exist, but because the frequency, intensity and duration of its existence has become irrelevant.

People in the driest climates on earth will say “it doesn't rain here”.

🏜️ The truth is … it rains everywhere on earth.

But maybe it only rains a few days a year in certain regions. So the rain’s frequency is so small, that it’s practically irrelevant to even mention - HENCE - the default to saying “it doesn't rain here”.

Anxiety never was, and never is something you’ve “had” …. and it is not something “to heal from”.

Let me say it again … 👂

Anxiety never was, and never is something you’ve “had” …. and it is not something “to heal from”.

But I'll tell you what there is to heal from …

You can → absolutely ← heal from what has been historically ineffective, useless, and often worse than useless understandings of, and responses to, this thing we call “anxiety”.

All of which, have been continuing to birth and propagate even more anxiety in your life.

Which is why my #1 tip for reducing your anxiety is to get crystal clear - and ASAP - about what the heck this thing is that we are so occupied with “healing from” (i.e. anxiety).

Or else?

You will waste a LOOOOOTTTTTT of brain pain, brain drain, and wallet strain chasing after ‘‘healing’’ a thing that doesn’t need healing to begin with …

And “getting rid of” a thing you never “had” in the first place 🥵 🔄 ⏳.
